Mail Chimp

posted Aug 22, 2016, 7:34 AM by Birmingham IMA

The IMA Global email blast system has been spotty, and on advice from our regional IMA Community Relations Manager, we have moved to an external system - Mail Chimp - for sending out meeting notices, September PD reminders, etc. Please check your All Mail folders and (hopefully not) your SPAM folders for IMA emails and add the sender to your safe list. It should appear to come from mstuenke@southernco.com, but most email services will recognize it as bulk email and might sort it accordingly.

Congratulations to Dorothy White, who won the 2016 Annual Drawing prize, drawn at the May Technical meeting! Dorothy walks away with a check for $230 (or the equivalent of a one-year membership in IMA)!

Dorothy had a 3.29% chance to win the drawing, with 15 of a total 456 "names in the hat." Her 15 chances came from attending 7 monthly meetings, 3 points for board meetings, and 5 more for volunteering to be on the chapter's board.

Congratulations, Dorothy!!!

Past Presidents Recognized

As many of you know, our Treasurer, Mark WIlkinson, retired from Alabama Power Company last week. He served the chapter in various capacities for many years. In doing so, he accumulated many Birmingham Chapter documents, one of which was a list of Past Chapter Presidents through 2009.  We have updated the list and published it on our site as a thank you to all of the men and women who served as Chapter President over the years. The list can be found here.

September PD Date Changes!

posted Mar 20, 2016, 5:39 AM by Birmingham IMA   [ updated Mar 20, 2016, 5:43 AM ]

Due to a conflict with the meeting room, the dates for this year's September PD sessions will be slightly different than in years past. This year we will effectively have two 2-day mini-conferences. The dates are as follows: Thursday and Friday, September 8-9 and Thursday and Friday, September 29-30. As always, all sessions will come before (or on) the 9/30 deadline for Alabama CPE.

The meetings will take place in the same location we have used for the past several years: The auditorium of the Alabama Power Corporate Headquarters building in downtown Birmingham.

Thank you for your understanding, and we're sorry for any inconvenience.
