President's Message

Dear Birmingham Chapter Members,

I'm starting to run out of things to say! I certainly appreciate the vote of confidence you've shown by electing me to be the President again. I look forward to serving in this role for another year.

A little bit about me: I graduated from Alabama in December 2003 with a BS in Accounting, and again in August 2005 with a Masters in Accounting.  I worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 2 years before leaving public accounting for Alabama Power Company in September 2007.  I've recently enrolled in the MBA program at Samford University and plan to walk in my final graduation ceremony ever in December 2016!

More importantly, I married my lovely wife, Jennifer, in August 2006, and we have been blessed with two beautiful daughters: Isabella (January 2012) and Vivian (March 2014).

I have been a member of the chapter for almost nine years, and I’ve spent seven of those years on the board.  I have enjoyed getting to know many of our members through my involvement in our chapter, and I look forward to another opportunity to get to meet and know more of you over the next year.

My first goal for this year continues to be to provide quality, topical CPE credit to our members through our monthly Technical Meetings, which are held on the fourth Tuesday of most months (check our calendar and newsletter for details).  I welcome any and all feedback about our meetings, as well as speaker and topic suggestions.  I also look forward to working with the South Birmingham chapter of IMA as well as the Birmingham Chapter of the AFWA to provide 32 hours worth of quality CPE during our Professional Development sessions in September.

If you have any questions about our chapter, about becoming a member, or about becoming involved in board activities, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  My information can be found on the “Contact Us” page of this website.
