CPE Credit

Forty hours of study per year are required for all Alabama CPAs.  At least eight of the forty hours must be in accounting and auditing, and a maximum of eight hours of the forty may be in behavioral courses.  This program has been approved by the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy for continuing education credit.  Each morning and afternoon session earns four hours, a total of eight hours each day.  Sessions approved for A&A credit are noted on the Program Schedule below.

Location / Parking

All sessions will be held in the Auditorium of the Alabama Power Corporate Headquarters.  This is the same location as 2012-2016.  Enter the building through the large glass doors on 18th street, walk up the ramp and past the receptionist's desk. The Auditorium is on the left.

Metered parking is available all around the Alabama Power headquarters building.  There is also all-day parking lots and decks nearby, including at the corner of 6th Ave N and 18th Street.  Participants in the afternoon sessions should consider arriving early due to higher traffic volumes around the building during the lunch hour.

Note: There is no public wifi access in the auditorium.

Snacks and drinks are provided at all sessions, but lunch is not included.  However, the Alabama Power cafeteria is just steps away from the meeting room and is open to the public.  Additional lunch options, including the Harbert Center food court, Zoe's Kitchen, Urban Cookhouse, Maki Fresh, and Chick-fil-a are within easy walking distance of the Alabama Power building. And some of Birmingham's favorite food trucks are known frequent the area on Fridays in the fall!

Program Fees

Registration fee details:
    • Members of any of the three above sponsoring chapters$65 per 4-hour session
    • Non-Members: $80 per 4-hour session
Please Note: Registration for each session will end at approximately 5pm the night prior to the session.

All walk-up registrations (members and non-members) will be $90 per 4-hour session.

Notes: A nominal processing fee will be assessed for all refunds requested.
